As part of the company’s growth-focused sales strategy, this month Dupré Logistics launches a new Web site at www.DupreLogistics.com. The updated site will serve as a client portal reflecting the varying range of specialty services the company has grown to offer since its founding in 1980. In addition to having an integrated blog, the new site allows customers and employees to access the real-time data and historic case studies that have lead to Dupré’s current reputation as a leader in safety.

Dupré Logistics Receives US EPA 2012 SmartWay Excellence Award

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Dupré Logistics was honored with a SmartWay®Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a true industry leader in freight supply chain environmental performance and energy efficiency. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognizes Dupré Logistics results based on the second generation quantification and reporting tools that collect detailed data of freight operation. Dupré Logistics demonstrated top environmental performance by effectively hauling all freight with environmentally and energy efficient SmartWay carriers.

“Our industry has been the subject of much government regulation of late,” said Reggie Dupré, Chief Executive Officer. “We are proud to be recognized not only meeting but exceeding the expectations of the regulators that make our work more environmentally safe.”

Dupré Logistics was one of 40 companies, representing fewer than one percent of the Partnerships’ nearly 3000 Partners, to receive this distinction. Reggie Dupré accepted the award for truck and multimodal carrier Partners at the American Trucking Association’s Annual Management Conference & Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"EPA is pleased to recognize these SmartWay Partners with a 2012 Excellence Award. I commend Dupré Logistics for its leadership in moving goods efficiently and reducing the environmental impact of freight through the second generation SmartWay Transport Partnership", said Chris Grundler, Acting Director of EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality. “Their commitment is helping lead the freight industry to a more sustainable future."

About SmartWay: EPA launched SmartWay in 2004 to help business improve the sustainability of their freight supply chains. Today the Partnership consists of nearly 3,000 Partners, representing a cross section of the freight supply chain industry. As of today, SmartWay Partners have saved 55 million barrels of oil. This is equivalent to taking over 3 million cars off the road for an entire year. SmartWay’s clean air achievements (23.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, 478,000 tons nitrogen oxides, and 22,000 tons of particulate matter reduced so far) help protect the health and well-being of citizens while contributing to our nation’s economic and energy security.

Dupré Logistics Joins Industry Group to Go the Extra Mile

Friday, October 12, 2012

Dupré Logistics has joined the Alliance for Driver Safety and Security (The Trucking Alliance), a small group of trucking companies that formed to lobby for a defined set of safety initiatives that affect the industry. The Alliance was established in 2010 in an effort to get the recent Electric On-Board Recorders (EOBR) mandate passed. Following the successful passage of the mandate, the Trucking Alliance has identified 6 additional initiatives that will make a positive impact on the industry.

“Our Trucking Alliance membership is evidence of our commitment to passing effective and important legislation,” said Reggie Dupré, Dupré CEO. “The 2012 Trucking Alliance initiatives align with our commitment to not only Dupré drivers’ safety but the safety of all in the industry.”

Currently, the alliance is focusing on mandatory speed limiters and improvements to drug and alcohol testing amongst other safety initiatives. Dupré is playing an important role in lobbying for the initiative surrounding their innovative fatigue management program. In addition to using fatigue management for ten years, Dupré uses predictive modeling (7 years) and Qualcomm and GreenRoad technologies to greatly reduce accidents. Combining fatigue management with measuring and analyzing driver data has gotten the company recognition nationwide as an innovator.

Dupré has recently been recognized for its role in implementing innovative safety programs as evidenced by numerous safety awards including the 2010 ATA President’s Trophy and Safety Director of the Year in 2011.

“We are proud to stand with like-minded companies, focusing on specific issues to achieve goals that will ultimately change the industry for good,” continued Dupré.

Are You Ready for Better Times?

Friday, July 08, 2011

As our country is coming out of the recent deep recession, we need to make sure that our companies are ready. We’ve all trimmed our costs as much as possible to survive the recession, but now, to grow and flourish in better times, we need to change our focus from cutting costs to investing wisely in the future, if we haven’t done so already.

Many companies cut costs so deeply that their service levels suffered. They will struggle to win back a reputation so they can keep current customers and appeal to new ones. We all have to focus now on remaining productive and efficient, while increasing our customer services. Customer service will be a major divider between successful, growth companies, and those that fail or merely survive.

Being good is no longer enough. Every company has to plan to be better, especially in the eyes of their customers. Focus now on where you should spend the added income that will be coming to you from business growth in the future.
